[sdiy] Yamaha CS-5 problem

Hi Bob,
This is exactly how the VCA initial level is supposed to work. What this
does is 'open up' the VCA. 99% of the time, you'll leave it turned down
(normally, you only want the envelope generator to open up the VCA). You see
the same thing on the ARP Odyssey and 2600, and it throws a lot of people
for a loop.

Subject: [sdiy] Yamaha CS-5 problem
The problem with this Cs-5 is when you turn the VCA initial level knob all
the way down it seems to sound and trigger like it's supposed to. However,
if you turn the knob up at all you get is a drone of the last note played.
If you play another note the note changes but there is no release. It just
keeps going. I'm relatively new at working on this vintage stuff so any help
would be appreciated.
Thanks,
AL Robinson
