[sdiy] OT: A Passing of the Torch

My son (12) put an electronics kit together today.  A little FM radio
transmitter, 3 transistors (2xFET 1xBJT), 2 diodes (one is a varicap),
resistors, caps, 9v batt.  Strip line type oscillator, varicap modulator. 
He did all of the soldering and most of the component ID, learned instantly
about proper part orientation.  It works.  Big grins, he's very proud of
himself.
