yeah, you just buy the plugs, the stackable kind are like a buck, maybe
cheaper, the I bought some thick insulated test equipment wire stranded of
course, which I think was $12 for a spool of 50 or 100 feet, you just strip
the ends of the cable, thread it through the metal bit of the banana plug,
then put the plastic case over the plug until it snaps in, which can be a
bit hard, sometimes I use other tools like a pair of pliers to get the
housing over the wire.  Really cheap compared to the prices of molded banana
cables.
