It is best to view all chips by different manufacturers as "similar" rather
than the same. Motorola Schmitt voltages are different to the bulk of
others. I've also had serious issues with Farichild 4051. If a voltage
appears on an analog input before the power rail comes up, the chip locks.
It doesn't happen with Motorola, Phillips or Texas chips. I'm talking about
a split second later too - the difference caused by a 100 ohm current limit
resistor before a 5V regulator feeding the power rail.
