The GK-1 has a number of functions.  It is a six channel preamp for
the hex pickup (it does not fuzz, just amplify).  It has the four knobs
for CVs, and an input for normal guitar (which you should NOT use imho
because its noisy !)

>From the hex pickup (g-vox should work fine) you need to run seven
wires to the preamp. From there you will need at least seven wires
to the Roland (if you don't care about the pots etc.)

I could look up the pin numbers for the cable if you need them. The GK-1
had all SMT components so if you go to build one, you will probably not get one
that small.

If you need to build your own clone, I'd suggest a DB-25 cable and a small BUD
aluminum box. Just don't drill it into your '59 Les Paul   :^P

See any of the AHMW photos for my remote guitar box.   I use a seven pin DIN
for audio and a 15pin HD for controls.   If I was a new design I'd use the DB-25

because its VERY available !!!
