[sdiy] beginner's op-amp question

Hi all,

I'm about to start my first "real" diy project involving some 
band-pass filters (standard Deliyannis circuits as described in 
various Electronotes), and I've stumbled over this very basic 
question:

Is it OK if I leave the offset null pins not connected?

After googling it I discovered that those usually are only used to 
get the output to zero if there's no input signal... and one can put 
a trimpot between the two... so, is it OK to not connect these in a 
filter circuit?
