makes me regret the apparently wasteful way which several lowery,
wurlitzer, and gulbransen spinets have met their end at my hands.
next spinet to be grazed for parts by me gets the keyboard taken out
too. this Conn over here has a pretty nice action ...
sadly, the most recent Hammond T-100 to give its motor and accutronics
tank to me could not be saved. it was a completely functional organ
which someone threw in a dumpster ... sitting alone at the bottom of
it.
i couldn't lift it out, and my dollies were lent out, the skip was to
be emptied in a couple hours, and i was driving my buick and not my
van, so all i could do was jump _in_ the dumpster and field disassemble
the OEM leslie with my bare hands and my pipe tool (a 3-in-one for
tamping and reaming briar pipes).
2-speed motor stack and 18" spring reverb tank in hand, i crawled out
of the dumpster and walked to my car.
this was behind a church in the ghetto. the pastor pulled her car up
with its headlights on so i could kind of see what i was doing.
much fun. always very sad to see a Hammond go.
oh. this is my first post to the list, but i see many familiar names.
hello.
