That would Northeast rather than Central Atlantic, wouldn't it? ;-) I
know, I mentioned NYC first. Doh!!
Meanwhile, I'm pulling for the Southeast. Maybe we need 2 separate
events?
On a whim, I sent an e-mail to a Prof at the Florida State University
School of Music (http://www.music.fsu.edu/) to see if they would be
interesting in hosting a meeting. FSU in Tallahassee is easier for
non-Floridians to reach to than are Orlando and Miami. It seemed like
a good idea at the time. I'll let you know if I hear anything in
return.
Although FSU does not teach electronic music per se, the school does
have a Commercial Music program that includes "MIDI, audio recording
and production," among other subjects:
http://www.music.fsu.edu/commercial-music.htm. That's why I thought
they might be interested.
University of Florida, on the other hand, seems to be more
traditionally oriented: http://www.arts.ufl.edu/MUSIC/,
