I don't own one, but I have a Synthi A here at the moment.

The shape control does affect the ramp/triangle signal of osc 2 and 3. 
It does not change the "steepness" of the slope. The signal is a 
full-wave rectified sum of a sawtooth and a dc voltage. The dc voltage 
is the shape control.
