[sdiy] Power supply

I have a A Sys Doepfer hybrid running in a A Sys case. I've just made a
small pre-amp project from Maplin (Velleman Universal mono pre-amp) which I
thought might be compatible with my synth (input from 10-30VDC drawing 10mA)
I powered it up - and read the output. This was no more than 4V, so I
thought it would be well within the limits of the synth. As soon as I
plugged it into the synth I blew a fuze. I reckon I've wired up the power
wrong so I'd appreciate some advice.

The two power inputs are labelled + and -. It specifies 10-30V, so I
wired the -12V from the synth to the - peg, and the Ground from the synth to
the + peg, giving a potential of 12V overall.

Can anyone suggest the correct wiring for this as I've run out of fuzes.
