Hi Julian,
I don't have an exact answer for you, but I'm sure someone with more
experience than I will chime in with some appropriate cap values. However, I
thought I'd provide a little background info for those who might be
interested in learning more about capacitors and their application in
bypassing and decoupling:
A pretty good primer on bypass caps. The last section "Using Bypass
capacitors" will give you the most useful information
http://www.seattlerobotics.org/encoder/jun97/basics.html
A neat site with good info on decoupling, bypassing, groundplanes, and
several other related topics
http://www.williamson-labs.com/480_dec.htm
Here's a nice little dual linear supply (adjustable, even) with nicely
written explanations of what each component does
http://orca.st.usm.edu/~jmneal/dual_psu/
And of course, Harry Bissell's Field Guide to Capacitors
http://www.muzique.com/cap_faq.htm
or
http://www.hoohahrecords.com/resfreq/articles/capacitor.html
Have fun with it, an here's hoping your modular always runs smoothly!
