Yeah. Mechanical synthesis. How about powering it from one of those 
perpetual motion water wheel things that Burt Rutan builds in his spare time?

How about this. Print the wave onto a semi-transparent wheel. Ah lah. 
hammond organ. Pick it off with an LDR.

Or my personal favorite. Built a satellite receiver system and hire some 
satellite time. Have someone stand with a pair of microphones at some 
arbitrary beach somewhere in the world and uplink the sound directly.
