[sdiy] anybody ever managed to fix a chroma polaris with dead buttons?

My beloved chroma polaris has falled victim to the "membrane death" that seems to be a common fate for these synths.
It's not the switches themselves, first a row of them failed, then most of the rest failed, now i've got 2 or 3 working buttons left.
Is it possible to repair the ribbon cable or am I out of luck?
