	nice idea with the hole!

So maybe someone knows a decent way of terminating braided shield into crimping terminal also?

It's so thick it won't fit into 22AWG terminals I'm using. I simply cut most of the shield and leave just enough wires for crimping, but it seems (and looks) very unproffesional.

Jim, The trick is to spread a little hole in the shield close to the jacket then fish the center conductor and and shield through the hole. The shield braid will be intact and then easy to solder. With a little practice goes pretty fast and is clean. Take care,

For the 1/4 inch patch cords I made, I used microphone cable...but that is too thick for what you need... HOWEVER...some words of wisdom...

I purchased 100 feet of cable at two different times (from the one and only local electronics store). The first 100 feet had braided shield...it takes a considerable amount of time to unbraid this...the second 100 feed had a spiral wrapped shield...very easy to unwind, made fabrication of the cables a lot quicker...so, before you buy, get a sample and check it out...

Hello all,
I'm building up a modular system and I want to make my own patch cables. The system is primarily of the mini-plug variety. Can anyone give me a recommendation on a good brand/model of coax to use for this purpose? Primarily it needs to be thin and flexible. Belden have something like that?
Thanks!
