Wow, thanks much, Jaroslaw! The CMOS ICs were especially dodgy for me.

Since I do not understand how the entire circuit works, I would be
hesitant to make the circuit any differently, as I really like the way
it sounds. Sounds like a candidate for the new breadboard setup!
