[sdiy] PAIA Midi2CV - Replacing DIP Switch with Rotary Switches

Hello all
i have done exactly this mod on three PAIA Midi2CV boards to date. Since the
channel select DIP switches are already weighted in BCD (ie 1/2/4/8 ) using
a BCD coded rotary switch you can simply connect the matching outputs to the
corresponding switch pads and the common to the DIP common (Ov IIRC).The
mode switch can be wired in a similar way. I know Farnell and RS components
do these switches here in the UK, I'm sure others do too. I am guessing
Digi-key or Mouser also stock them in the US. They are quite pricey but I am
fortuanate enough to have picked up a large bag of around 40 pieces at a
surplus sale a few years back - I doubt I'll ever get through them all! BTW
I am a big fan of this midi-CV board : it's great value and very flexible.
Hope this helps
Pete
