To tell you the truth, it is possible to hook up a mixer using only passive
components. As long as you only need to mix and you don't need gain, it's
easy to just throw together a passive mixer. A passive unit has it's
drawbacks, but it is the absolute simplest way to mix signals.
If you do need to use an op amp, do a search for something using an LM324 or
possibly an LM3900. Both are capable of single supply operation. Also,
here's a nifty paper from Texas Instruments about running op amps normally
meant for dual supply operation on a single supply.
