Now come on. To solve arguments like this once and for all, I created the
"Sound Quality Understanding in Audio Technology" rating system (or SQUAT
for short):

New(er) Technology = More accurate, less distortion, but "cold and sterile"

Old(er) Technology = Distortion, hum, wow and flutter, but "warmer" and
"more musical."

Using used instrument prices and the relative ages of the technologies
involved as a means of assigning 'weights' to Newer VS. Older, we get -

Discrete Logic = Better than microprocessors
Analog = Better than digital
Discrete Transistors = Better than ICs
Tubes = Better than transistors
Bakelite Knobs = Better than molded plastic
Hollowed out logs and animal skins = Better than anything made with metal
Human voice = Better than anything

Remember also that ANY electronic component that becomes difficult or
impossible to find automatically becomes "warmer" and "more musical" than
the easy to find equivalent.

See, now you all know SQUAT!

Tim (know SQUAT? I invented it!) Servo
