I have just had a Bryston power amplifier in for repair. The customer
complained that it wouldn't power up, and sure enough it wouldn't. 
Taking
the lid off, revealed a small pool of 'liquid' and quite a pungent 
smell.

I rang the customer:

"Have you got a dog by any chance?"

"Ahh. I thought that would be the problem" replied the customer.

Which was a kind of relief really 'cos I don't know what I would have 
said
next if he denied he had a dog !
