I would drag out the Dremel next with a wire brush tip first. They have lots of them, so look
around for one that seems right. I would start with softer bristles first and work may way to
stiffer bristles as needed.
I personally would not consider bead blasting--there is too much stress associated with just
prepping everything IMO. And that doesn't even consider what could go wrong in the process. You
*might* end up with something that is not salavable.
What affect did the deoxit and the fine steel wool have?
A couple of the people on the list who do this often would probably be better resources than
myself. Old Crow comes to mind as having worked on some stuff like this; I think that was due to
battery acid primarily,
