Make sure you remove ALL the old solder before you're done and replace it
with new solder. Don't leave the two mixed. You'll regret it later. A
solder sucker is a must for this kind of job.

Removing old solder can be a challenge to the novice because it probably
won't want to melt. Wet it with some new solder and it will melt right away.
