yeah... what Jim said and... You can use too SMALL of a soldering iron. A lot of Old Timers (Bob Pease et al) use a 40W iron...and solder for a very short time. It gets the area of interest hot, fast... with little heat affected zone (as we say in the welding biz). H^) harry
