Yes, I am. This is why my previous post was about overloading the input
to a filter, and my concerns about how hot the signal should be.

So would I! I have not gotten to record any instances of me producing
such an effect on the synths of others, which is just as well,
considering the level of musical expression which was involved. If I
can produce the effect, then I will record it. What I wish I could
discribe is not so much as I understand clipping or rectification, but
a distortion which subjectively evoked the impression which I associate
with "growling" sounds which some mammals can produce. This is as
specific as I know how to be at the current time.
