How does a filter "growl" exactly? I'm not sure what sort of sound you are
referring to. Are you referring to the sound of a filter that's been fed a
very hot signal and is overloaded?

I'd like to hear a short mp3 sample of whatever effect you are after, if
one could be found or created.
