Hi Paul!
I wonder if I am misunderstanding you. I'd assume that by "base input
resistance" you are referring to those same 200 ohm or 1k resistors
whos value you said doesn't matter, am I wrong? As in the bases of the
transistors?
Why do the two schematics say that the signal strengths would vary so
much there, less than a volt compared to +/-12v? Is this related to the
filter rocking harder? I fear that I am high enough to rock, but no so
high that I can't see that my foundation in electronics is a tad
nonexistant, so I am not sure!
