[sdiy] MG-1 sliders, panel mounting?

I had started messing around with this MG-1 I was given in the early
springtime, and have recently been getting into it again. A few
preliminary things I've gotten out of the way are that I: Completely
disassembled the synth and gave it a good bath. Sanded and primed the
inside of the top and bottom steel panels, which had developed a light
film of rust. Scrubbed all of the felt tar away with 99% isopropyl.

I was psyched to discover "chipforbrains" auctions for sliders,
switches, and other MG-1 parts on eBay. I bought some of those, which
had arrived recently.

Removing the slide pots was very easy, as the PCB holes are enormous,
but I am hesitant to fasten these with merely the four wires under each
one. When I first got this beastie, practically all of the intermittant
behavior was caused by the slider joints flexing apart. I notice that
on the tops of each slider, there are two threaded holes! I could put
tiny bolts through the front panel to secure each pot! This is
something I have never heard of anybody doing before, so I thought I'd
ask about it. It will require a very steady hand with my hand-drill.
Other issue is that I don't know where to find bolts which are this
small, about 1/16 of an inch in diameter - and I don't even know the
thread pitch.

Has anyone else ever done this? I don't consider it a tremendous risk
to the panel layout, since I am going to drill holes for mods anyway.
Any guesses what sort of bolts these are, or where I can find them?
