I just hit the TI site this morning to get the datasheet,  and they seemed to 
indicate (on the site,  I haven't actually browsed the datasheet yet) that it 
was available in DIP...

That would be a problem for me all right as when it comes to surface mount I 
am just NOT going to go there.
