Now, am I overlooking something, or can't this be built with traditional 
OTAs?   Obviously, there would be some circuit redesigning involved...

I think I've also seen modifications to Roland synths (Jupiter, perhaps?) 
that added a lot of these functions.  I contemplated doing something 
similar to my SH-101, but the amount of wiring and trace cutting was a bit 
daunting (not to mention that the IR3109 is no longer available, and I 
didn't want to smoke it) .  Maybe someday I'll remove the IR3109, and build 
a daughter board with some of these functions available... I could then 
wire the daughter board to the old IC location.    Sure would be fun.
