IMHO it's better not to reset ADSR to 0V at gate start. Otherwise it would sound like a cheap rompler where each note begins from the same sample. However it may be usefull sometimes and easy doable provided this "feature" can be tunrned off by a switch.
I find it more pleasing and usable to start next attack phase where last release ended, even if its higher than the attack peak level.
