guys... we're shooting too low. WHY make a single chip analog VCF/VCA or
VCO... when they could make all of these on one big chip? you could have a
full analog synth on a chip, with the usual performance synth routing, but
easily bypassable using yr choice of jacks or switches. if enough were made,
each chip would be cheap enough that you can just use the whole thing if you
only needed a VCA or VCF. Or... break away chips! say you get one big long
DIP package, but with bevels at certain intervals. When you break the chip
at that point, the internal signal/power lines would be broken, but still
routed to pins. A de-modular synth! Once you break it up, you are left with
each of the sections of the chip [ 2xVCO | | 2xENV | VCF | VCA ], but can
use them however you want.
