Maybe we'll see that, I'd like to see something like that. Although Tom
Oberheim also got screwed (by Gibson).

I think Dave Smith has the right idea. This time around he is purposefully
keeping the company a small, one-man operation (although I still think he
should hire me to do his mechanical drawings and CAD work…but that’s another
story). Also, I guess history has a lesson or two for us: If you sell your
company to a big corporation, be prepared for them to muck it up and to keep
the rights to your name for a long time. Look at Bob Moog and Norlin. Or Tom
O and Gibson. It’s a shame that the American and European synth industry
basically got beat up and thrown in the dumpster by the flood of DX-7s, but
at least people have (sort of) come around to realize that a good sounding
synth is a good sounding synth whether its analog or digital or FM or
sampling or ROM playback or liquid/chemical reaction bath or whatever.
Not quite sure where I’m going with this, so I’ll shut up now. ;)
