Thank you Nathan, for your thoughts and your well-reasoned writings on the 
subject.  I was going to write a similarly impassioned response, but didn't have 
time.  I am very happy for Behringer's success in the marketplace, and I know 
it has nothing to do with them (supposedly) stealing circuits and ideas.  If 
Mackie was half as aggressive, innovative, and forward-thing as Behringer, 
they would not be in the financial doldrums that they find themselves in today.

After being in this business for over 30 years, I do know what good equipment 
is, and Behringer stuff is very well-made, sounds great -- and the low prices 
and bang-for-buck are absolutely empowering for musicians.
