the panning problem is not with the ends of the travel... it is with the
middle. At either end the ratio is 0% / 100% which is OK, but the
middle
really needs to be like 60% / 60% to seem like the amplitude of the
panned
signal stayed constant throughout the sweep from right to left (or
vice-versa
but you all KNEW that :^)
Linear control signals do not make a proper pan... there is a hole in the
middle.
There are good solutions using a potentiometer... but we know how HARD it
is to
just switch those over to VC...
