There was a chemical in my chemistry set (woah THAT's a long time ago) I
think
it was Ammomiun Chloride... that would give off white smoke in copious
amounts when
heated.    Funny I was thinking "ammonium nitr at te" but THAT could get
you in a lot
of trouble these days.

smoke synthesizer, why not ???
