to gate audio with ringmod, and I think this is what you're trying to do, you need square signal that goes to 0V between pulses, and drive the ringmod in DC mode. If for example your square toggles between +5 and -5V, it's only reversing phase of the other signal. If it's +5V and -2.5V, it will be switching between 2 levels 6dB apart.

Try another source of the square, or use diode in series with square input.
