Hi Tim
Welcome... If you want a good book to get started, I recommend Electronic
Projects for Musicians by Craig Anderton. It is originally written for
guitarists with stomp-box projects, although some modules are ripe for synth
modules. I recommend it more for the overview of types of circuits commonly
used in music and the tutorial on soldering, parts identification,
construction techniques etc. All information is 100% relevant to synth DIY
building. I still refer to mine after 20+ years... It's still in print and
you can order from Amazon or perhaps even locally in NZ.
After you have the first 50 pages of EFPM understood, THEN start poking
around for synth projects. for me, the internet is clearly the ultimate
"book", with the websites of many of this list's members as the best
resource for synth schematics and construction advice.
I'm not a guru but live in Korea if it makes you feel any better :)
cheers
Peff
