That could have been done...but I think you would have had diminishing
returns as the effective clock rate of the 6502 would have to be reduced in
order to maintain the minimum width of phase 2 of the clock....and the 6502
also had a minimum clock rate, since it was a dynamic, rather than a static
CPU chip.
