[sdiy] protecting line level inputs

Zeners can work for this.  

I'm curious, what are you doing that requires "+/-15 volt" spikes?  

Why can't this be processed at a lower voltage level than that?  
Say through a 10 to 1 voltage divider?

What is generating the spikes?
