I know that *I* am most comfortable with technology that's from around those
days... Later than that and you start to see way too much in the way of
custom chips, proprietary programmed stuff, surface mount, etc.

I'll say this -- I'm sure glad I found this list! Even if much of what I'm
interested in with electronics doesn't happen to concern synths (and that is
an area of interest, though not a primary one at present), you guys are
still better at dealing with a lot of electronics stuff more so than many of
the other electronic lists I have flowing in here. Too bad the topic isn't a
bit broader, or that I can't find more in the way of lists with this kind of
activity where the level of quality is this high. And I never get boared in
here, either. the focus seems to shift just fine all by itself from day to
day.
