Mono(lythic) capacitors usually refers to a cermaic
construction where the capacitor plates are on both
sides of a single (monolythic) dielectric substrate.
There are also "stacked monolythic" caps of larger
value, by patalleling many single units.
They should be considered more in terms of their
actual
dielectric...usually the smaller the cap is for the
same uF value, the less temperature stable they are.
I'd just lump them in with the more general "ceramic"
caps in application
