Top Ten ICs (was Re: [sdiy] Analog Design Book)

You cheat, you bounder. I count 14 ICs in that list.
Ignoring order my ten most used IC stock is:
TL074 (less expensive the the TL084 and close in specs)
NE5534
LM324
TL072
1458
7812
4027
4066
556
and least used and last . . .
NE555 (used with fond memories - the first thing I designed and built from
scratch that actually worked used this IC and a TTL chip no longer available. It
still sits on my bench 20+ years later as a sub .1 Hz to +750K Hz signal
generator. In fact next to the o'scope, it is the most used item on the bench.)
All used in synth modules!
. . . back to the orginal subject. The analog design book is very interesting.
The section on the OTAs is interesting and is going to require printing a hard
copy and reading in more depth.
Now to lunch and more trees.
