check out www.oakleysound.com for a few MIDI/CV interfaces (mono or 
poly). I haven't built either myself (yet) but I have several Oakley 
modules that are great.  This might be slightly more difficult than a 
kit since you buy the PCB/assembly instructions, but have to order the 
parts on your own. It's not very difficult to do that because for most 
modules, other builders have provided parts lists/numbers so you can 
just order those. This helped move me along to doing my own circuits 
quicker than just a kit because I got experience selecting components.
