I make crackleboxes, which means I connect point in the circuitry to
copperplates that I can touch (thus being a bunch of resistors myself, and
so becomming a thinking a part in the electronics). For better conductivity
and because I get a headache from copperoxide, I put a layer of solder
on my finger-contact plates.
And as I do not want to get sick from Pb, I've been using Tin Copper
soldering alloy from Farnell for my crackleboxes for several years now.
I really do not find it to be any different at all.
But I bought it for my job as well. (I teach sound techniques in the
theaterschool in Amsterdam.) Our students as well as my collegues
could not work with Tin Copper solder at all. I guess you need a more
stable hand. Otherwise, I can not relate to there complaints.
But I bought several kilo's of Pb/Sn solder for them. After all, I need
our cables to be soldered perfectly. :-)
