I've bought a few of those, always intended to use them for something for
exactly those reasons but I haven't gotten around to it. And as for the pipe
stuff... I once put one of those 9v battery practice amps at one end of a 3ft
length of pipe with a microphone on the other for some really cheesy-cool reverb
sounds.
