What with those typically being more than one platter,  I'm a little unsure as 
to how you'd disassemble it without trashing things entirely...

It'd be an interesting hack,  trying to modify HD electronics to work with 
this.  I guess the bigger/older units would be best,  and I actually have 
some candiates around,  too.  Don't need another project,  though.  :-)
