oh come on scott, get off your high horse. have you never told a lie? a
little lie, even? never, ever? never told the wife, kids or partner you were
busy when you really weren't? never told them you were just soldering a
vital part to an incredibly important piece of gear when you were just
tinkering around? ;-)

not illegal in the literary sense. but not very customer friendly, either.

no, you don't get to make the rules. the fact that something is yours,
doesn't mean you don't have to take the rest of the world into account as
well. there is a greater thing at work here..
this is exactly the issue.
or if that's yamaha's policy, they should put a big warning sticker on their
product. 'if you buy this synth, you're completely on your own when
something happens because we don't care at all about you as a customer. if
it breaks, you should throw it away and buy a new one from us.'

it's not about what i think i should have. it's about being reasonable about
