Cool idea. A first step could be a voltage controlled MIDI channel 
switcher. One could sweep through the various patches of a (or more 
than one) MIDI synth under voltage control. Of course, Note-On/Off 
pairs have to remain together on the same channel.
Then it could be refined as a combined voltage controlled 
channel/output switcher. With 16 outputs, 256 different patches could 
be selected under voltage control.
