[sdiy] Telharmonium motors, perhaps?

When I asked what he planned to build with a bunch of old motors,
Colin Hinz said he'd make a baby Telharmonium. :-) Well, I was
perusing the Electronic Goldmine's sale flier when the following
caught my eye:
"Precision 12VDC Motor" with "Sinusoidal Encoder Output."
    http://www.goldmine-elec-products.com/prodinfo.asp?number=G14783

The motor is rated at 12V but can run on anything from 3V to 18V,
which would presumably yield a wide range of speeds, or should I say a
wide range of pitches.

The motors are small (cool!) and on sale for a mere 99 cents each
(from $2.49).

Interesting, no?
