Single gates are around there for some 7-10 years AFAIK.
Toshiba makes them, Texas, and probably others. Now you say Rohm too.
They are helpfull in limited space. For example if I needed fast rise/fall slopes out of just one RC filtered signal, there's nothing simpler than putting TC7s14F, that is one shmidt gate like hc14.

Unfortunately last time I checked they cost few times more than old-fashioned 14/16-pin device.
