Hrm.  How about an LED bar graph indicator.  Use a couple diodes and an
inverter to feed the upper and lower halves of your signal to a pair of LED
bar graph drivers.  Dont know how usefull it'd be but it would look cool...

Hrm.  Actually, it *might* be usefull on an LFO.
